TREKKING FOR GOLD

– We are incredibly proud that Geelmuyden Kiese and DNT (The Norwegian Trekking Association) won the most prestigious prize in a competition with so many good contributions. We thank DNT for great cooperation, says senior adviser Marius Eriksen at Geelmuyden Kiese.

Geelmuyden Kiese won gold in the category “Best Membership” with the campaign “Trail Memories”, together with DNT. Throughout the campaign, DNT reminded people that trails are so much more than getting from A to B. Every path is an experience in itself, and leads to wonderful memories every time it is used. For over 140 years, DNT has worked to facilitate an active outdoor lifestyle for Norwegians. This is achieved by attracting members who see the value in supporting DNT’s work.

Together with Good Morning, Geelmuyden Kiese developed the website stiminner.no, which made it possible for users to tag photos, videos and stories in various categories and place them geographically in a digital map. Throughout the summer memories were uploaded to the site. Already after a few weeks, the map was filled with more than 3,000 unique and inspiring contributions, ranging from Nordkapp to Lindesnes. Stiminner.no had more than 50,000 unique visitors already in the first month, and over 200,000 impressions from July to mid-August. The most popular memory was read more than 8700 times.

The concept also involved traditional media, as a series of articles about the campaign and specific memories were sent to the media.
